1. Aston Villa vs Manchester U 1X2
Looking to collect another heavyweight scalp on Sunday afternoon, Aston Villa will welcome Manchester United to the Midlands.
Aston Villa
Starting with the hosts, collecting what was an iconic 1-0 victory against German giants Bayern Munich earlier in the week, Aston Villa are in the midst of what has become a famous fairytale. Getting their Champions League adventure underway with back-to-back wins, Unai Emery's men have only continued to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent. With the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, the former Arsenal boss will be confident of collecting another heavyweight scalp on Sunday afternoon. With their sights firmly set on securing another remarkable top-four finish this season, Aston Villa have gained a fearsome reputation for their success on home soil. Marking their return from September's international break with an action-packed 3-2 victory against Everton, Emery's side have won all of their previous three showdowns in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 7-3.
Team News
Limping off against Bayern Munich earlier in the week, Aston Villa are expected to be without Jacob Ramsey on Sunday afternoon. However, although Belgium international Amadou Onana might have appeared in some discomfort at Villa Park in midweek, Emery's side are hopeful that the former Everton midfielder can feature here.
Yet to make a single appearance so far this season, French midfielder Boubacar Kamara is not expected to be part of Villa's squad. While the red-hot Jhon Duran might have bagged that famous winner against Bayern on Wednesday night, the Colombian marksmen will likely settle for a spot on the bench once again.
Aston Villa possible starting lineup:
Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Digne; Rogers, Barkley, Tielemans, Philogene;
Duran, Watkins
Manchester United
As for the visitors, while Manchester United might have eventually snatched a sensational last-gasp equaliser away at Porto earlier in the week, the pressure on Erik ten Hag's shoulders remains at a boiling point. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny last weekend as they fell to an infamous 3-0 drumming at home against Tottenham, many around Old Trafford have made their feelings abundantly clear. Drastically failing to find any kind of fluidity under the ex-Ajax boss, Sunday's guests have registered just three wins from any of their first nine appearances across all competitions so far this season. Gaining quite the reputation for their glaring defensive struggles, United open this weekend's fixtures battling it out in the bottom-half of the Premier League table. Heading into September's international break with another woeful 3-0 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Liverpool, ten Hag's side will certainly face another stern examination in the Midlands here.
Team News
With last weekend's first-half red card overturned following a successful appeal, Bruno Fernandes is free to feature at Villa Park. However, all still dealing with respective injury issues, Manchester United will be unable to call upon the likes of England international Luke Shaw and big-money summer recruit Leny Yoro.
Marking his first start of the season with a European strike away at Porto on Thursday night, Danish marksmen Rasmus Hojlund will be hoping to keep his spot. Settling for a spot on the bench in midweek after dealing with a minor knock, Kobbie Mainoo will make a full return in the Midlands.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire, Dalot; Mainoo, Ugarte; Garnacho, Fernandes,
Rashford; Zirkzee
Statistics: 1-0-4 (1-0-1)

2. Chelsea – Nottingham 1 2
In their last five games, Chelsea have won been perfect, winning all five. It has been a dominant stretch for the Blues, as they look to continue their good form. This run started with a narrow 1-0 win away at Bournemouth, with a late winner coming courtesy of Christopher Nkunku. The Cherries had missed a penalty earlier in the game, but the visitors took advantage of their limited chances.
This was followed by a more comfortable victory, this time a 3-0 win away at West Ham. Nicolas Jackson scored an early brace to put his side in control, before Cole Palmer put the game to bed with a third shortly after the restart. Chelsea then booked their place in the fourth round of the EFL Cup with an emphatic 5-0 win over League Two Barrow. Nkunku netted a hat-trick.
Last weekend saw a remarkable game between themselves and Brighton, with all the goals coming in the first half in a 4-2 win. Brighton had taken the lead thanks to a defensive gaffe, but the hosts soon turned it around with a Palmer hat-trick. Palmer added his fourth shortly after Chelsea gifted their opponents another goal. Their most recent game was in the Europa Conference League against Gent, in which they won 4-2. Renato Veiga, Pedro Neto, Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall were on the scoresheet.
Team News
Chelsea should have a mostly fit squad to choose from with the exception of Reece James who is yet to feature this season. Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana will return to the lineup after not being named in the Europa Conference League squad.
In their last five games, Nottingham Forest have won one, lost one and drawn three. It had been an unbeaten stretch for Forest but suffered their first defeat last time out. This came against Fulham at home as they narrowly lost 1-0. Raul Jimenez scored the winner from the penalty spot.
Two 1-1 draws started this run, firstly in the EFL Cup against Newcastle. Joe Willock put the visitors ahead after just one minute, but this was cancelled out by Jota Silva. However, Forest were defeated on penalties. They then came away with a point at Wolves. Chris Wood scored 10 minutes in, though they were pegged back two minutes later.
Following the international break, they picked up a huge three points at Anfield, beating Liverpool 1-0. Callum Hudson-Odoi produced an excellent finish to give them the lead with 18 minutes to go, one they would not relinquish. Forest then travelled to another unbeaten team in Brighton. They maintained their streak with a 2-2 draw. They took the lead through a Wood penalty, but the hosts turned it around with goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck. Ramon Sosa levelled the score with 20 minutes to go.
Team News
Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare remain long-term absentees. Morgan Gibbs-White is available to return after serving a one-game suspension. They should have no new injury concerns.
Statistics: 2-2-1 (1-1-1)

3. Brighton – Tottenham 1X2 MG
In their last five games, Brighton have won one, lost one and drawn three. It had been an unbeaten start to the league campaign for Brighton, but this was snapped in their most recent game at Chelsea in a 4-2 loss. They took the lead through Georginio Rutter, though soon found themselves 3-1 behind thanks to a Cole Palmer hat-trick. Carlos Baleba responded once more, but a fourth Palmer goal ended the scoring before half-time.
This followed a 2-2 draw at home to Nottingham Forest. Both teams exchanged leads, with Forest going ahead first. Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off late on for the visitors, but Brighton were unable to take advantage of the extra man. The Seagulls booked their place in the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a 3-2 win over Wolves. Baleba and Simon Adingra gave them a 2-0 lead which was halved before the break. Ferdi Kadioglu added a third late on before another Wolves strike which proved to be a consolation.
Ipswich visited the Amex Stadium and were able to come away with a goalless draw. Brighton dominated in both shot attempts and possession, but failed to take any of their chances. The first game of this run was a big 1-1 draw away at Arsenal. Kai Havertz put the Gunners in front, but a red card for Declan Rice shifted the momentum in the visitors' favour. They found an equaliser through Joao Pedro.
Team News
Joao Pedro could make a return after missing the last game in what would be a huge boost. Joel Veltman, Jan Paul van Hecke and Simon Adingra could also be involved. New signing Matt O'Riley remains out with an ankle injury.
In their last five games, Tottenham have been perfect, winning all five. It has been a much improved stretch for Ange Postecoglou's side as they have come through this period without defeat. The first game of this stretch saw them go through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a 2-1 win at Coventry. However, they were minutes away from being knocked out. At 1-0 down, Djed Spence scored an equaliser in the 88th minute. Brennan Johnson netted the winner in stoppage time to complete the turnaround.
Spurs saw themselves fall behind again in their next game at Brentford after just 22 seconds. Although, this deficit did not last long as Dominic Solanke levelled the score seven minutes later. Johnson made it 2-1 just before the half hour mark, and James Maddison added a third late on. European action followed and it was a comfortable 3-0 victory over Qarabag. This is despite playing almost all of the game with 10 men after Radu Dragusin saw red. Johnson, Pape Matar Sarr and Solanke were the goalscorers.
They repeated the same scoreline in their latest league game against Man United at Old Trafford. Johnson continued his hot streak with another goal, before Dejan Kulusevski and Solanke found the net in the second half. United played the second half with 10 as Bruno Fernandes was sent off. Last time out, they were back in the Europa League away at Ferencvaros. They were 2-1 winners, with Sarr and Johnson scoring.
Team News
Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are still out with injury and are not expected back until later this month. Heung-Min Son was absent last weekend but should be available. Destiny Udogie has no return date.
Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bentancur, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Werner
Statistics: 2-0-3 (1-0-1)

4. Bologna vs Parma 1X2
Bologna will be hoping for a better result following a 2-0 Champions League defeat in their last game at the hands of Liverpool.
In that match, Bologna had 48% possession and 12 shots on goal with 2 of them on target. At the other end, Liverpool got 9 shots at goal with 4 of them on target. Alexis Mac Allister (11') and Mohamed Salah (75') scored for Liverpool.
It has been seldom in recent games that Bologna haven't conceded. It will be a concern for them that Bologna have failed to prevent opponents from scoring in 5 of their previous 6 matches, letting in 6 goals during that time.
Their previous form shows that Bologna:
- haven't lost in the league to Parma in their last 9 matches. A decent run, indeed.
- haven't been defeated in their previous 7 home league matches.
- are without a win at home for the past 6 league games. That's never good.
Team News: Bologna
Oussama El Azzouzi (Knee injury), Nicolò Cambiaghi (Cruciate ligament surgery) and Lewis Ferguson (Cruciate ligament surgery) aren't available for Bologna manager Vincenzo Italiano.
It looks as if Rossoblu look set to use the 4-3-3 system in the match, beginning the first half with Lukasz Skorupski, Stefan Posch, Sam Beukema, Nicolò Casale, Juan Miranda, Michel Aebischer, Remo Freuler, Giovanni Fabbian, Riccardo Orsolini, Santiago Castro and Dan Ndoye.
Following on from suffering a loss in their previous game against Cagliari in Serie A action, Parma and their travelling supporters will be hoping that they can get a better result in this one.
In that match, Parma had 61% possession and 18 shots at goal with 4 of them on target. For Parma, the scorers were Dennis Man (62') and Hernani (87'). At the other end, Cagliari had 12 attempts at goal with 4 of them on target. Nadir Zortea (34'), Răzvan Marin (75') and Roberto Piccoli (87') scored for Cagliari.
Proving their bias toward productive encounters, we've had goals 22 times in the previous six games in which Parma have played, giving an average of 3.67 goals per fixture. Their opponents have hit 12 of these goals. Having said that, time will tell if that trend shall persist in this upcoming match or not.
Looking at the pre-match facts, Parma:
- are winless against Bologna when they've played them away from home in the last 4 league games. Not the best of away records.
- are without an away win for the past 6 league matches.
Team News: Parma
Parma manager Fabio Pecchia has a number of players out of action. Adrian Benedyczak (Injury to the ankle), Nahuel Estévez (Thigh problems), Alessandro Circati (Cruciate ligament tear) and Mateusz Kowalski (Cruciate ligament tear) are not able to play.
We're of the thinking that I Crociati seem most likely to elect for a 4-2-3-1 system, choosing Zion Suzuki, Enrico Del Prato, Botond Balogh, Yordan Osorio, Woyo Coulibaly, Hernani, Adrián Bernabé, Dennis Man, Simon Sohm, Valentin Mihaila and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Statistics:3-2-0 (2-1-0)

5. Fiorentina vs AC Milan X2
Fiorentina
Starting with the hosts, eventually overcoming what was a rugged TNS on Thursday night as they eventually secured a 2-0 win against the Welsh outfit, Fiorentina will be more than aware that they face a stern leap up in class on Sunday night. Although the Viola might have made quite the statement on September 22nd as they claimed a 2-1 victory against Lazio, it is fair to sat that Raffaele Palladino's men are seeking some much-needed domestic stability. Missing out on what they had billed as a potential opportunity last weekend as they had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Empoli, the Tuscany-based club have registered just a single victory from any of their first seven Serie A appearances. It should also be highlighted, Fiorentina have lost four of their previous five showdowns against the Rossoneri.
Team News
While Pietro Comuzzo and Lucas Martinez Quarta might have missed out against the New Saints on Thursday night after serving respective European suspensions, both are free to feature here. However, dealing with a recent knock over the past weekend, Fiorentina are once again expected to be without the services of Croatian international defender Marin Pongracic.
Coming off the bench and bagging a Conference League strike in midweek, one-time Everton loanee Moise Kean will be handed a full recall in Tuscany. Likewise, arriving on a free transfer over the summer, ex-Manchester United ace David de Gea will start between the sticks.
AC Milan
As for the visitors, putting in a toothless performance earlier in the week as they slumped to a 1-0 loss away at Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the week, AC Milan have shown some real Champions League issues since getting their European adventure underway. However, despite their issues on the continent, Paulo Fonseca's side have enjoyed a real domestic flurry since returning from September's international break. Last seen in Serie A action storming their way to a routine 3-0 romp at home against Leece, the former Lille boss has seen his squad win each of their previous three top-flight appearances. Springing what was an almighty upset last month as they clinched a famous 2-1 victory against arch-rivals Inter Milan, the Rossoneri will be desperate to claim an immediate response when they travel to Florence on Sunday night.
Team News
Shown a straight red card after coming off the bench against Leece last weekend, 18-year-old Davide Bartesaghi will miss out through suspension here. Likewise, undergoing surgery last month on what looks set to be a long-term calf injury, Algerian international Ismael Bennacer will not travel to Florence on Sunday night.
Settling for a spot on the bench away at Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the week, Spanish skipper Alvaro Morata should be handed a full recall and speared Fonseca's charge. Already notching four Serie A strikes so far this season, ex-Chelsea star Christian Pulisic will play a leading role in the final third.
Statistics: 1-0-4 (1-0-1)

6. Monza vs Roma X2
Monza won't want a repeat of their last result here after the 2-0 Serie A losing effort in their last game against SSC Napoli.
In that game, Monza managed 51% possession and 5 shots on goal with 1 on target. Napoli got 11 attempts at goal with 2 of them on target. Matteo Politano (22') and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (33') scored for SSC Napoli.
It has been a rare occasion in recent games that Monza haven't conceded. The reality is that Monza have failed to prevent opponents from scoring in 6 of their previous 6 games, letting in 9 goals during that time. Historical results aside, we'll just have to find out whether the trend might be sustained in this match or not.
Ahead of this meeting, Monza are without a win at home for the past 7 league matches. Fans are getting restless.
Team News: Monza
Patrick Ciurria (Meniscus injury), Dany Mota (unknown injury), Samuele Vignato (Muscle fatigue), Roberto Gagliardini (unknown injury), Stefano Sensi (Muscle fatigue) and Alessio Cragno (Shoulder injury) won't be playing for Monza boss Alessandro Nesta.
It's our opinion that Brianzoli look set to use the 3-4-2-1 formation in the match with Stefano Turati, Armando Izzo, Pablo Mari Villar, Andrea Carboni, Pedro Pereira, Matteo Pessina, Alessandro Bianco, G. Kyriakopoulos, Gianluca Caprari, Daniel Maldini and Milan Djuric.
After being defeated in their last game at the hands of IF Elfsborg in Europa League competition, Roma and their travelling supporters will be hoping that they can get a better result in this one.
In that match, Roma managed 75% possession and 23 attempts at goal with 5 on target. IF Elfsborg got 6 shots at goal with 4 of them on target. Michael Baidoo (44') scored for IF Elfsborg.
A succession of resolute showings from the Roma defensive players has seen the number of goals they've conceded amounting to 3 from their last 6 fixtures in total. In that time, their forwards have scored 7.
Taking a look at their past results, Roma:
- are unbeaten in their previous 3 away league matches.
- have not won away from home in their last 6 league matches.
Team News: Roma
Roma boss Ivan Jurić has to contend with a number of unavailable players. Enzo Le Fée (Collateral ligament injury) and Alexis Saelemaekers (Ankle surgery) are not able to play.
We're of the thinking that i Giallorossi might utilise a 3-4-2-1 lineup, choosing Mile Svilar, Gianluca Mancini, Evan NDicka, Angeliño, Zeki Celik, Manu Koné, Bryan Cristante, Stephan El Shaarawy, Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Artem Dovbyk.

Skador: Robin Le Normand, César Azpilicueta , Marcos Llorente
Statistik: 0-2-3 (0-1-1)
8. Sevilla – Real Betis 1X2
Statistik: 1-0-4 (0-0-2)
11. Frankfurt – Bayern München X2
Tidig seriefinal i Bundesliga.
Skador: Hiroki Ito, Josip Stanisic, Sacha Boey, Jamal Musiala, Sven Ulreich avstängd
